The people of Israel should apply Israeli sovereignty over Judea & Samaria – now!!

Why should the people of Israel apply Israeli Sovereignty over Judea & Samaria Now?
1. It’s the right thing to do and always has been.
2. It will disable the propaganda ploy intended by the Arab Palestinians, the Arab League and those Leftists in Europe, Asia, the US and the UN who support them. They proclaim they will declare a new State of Palestine, [a Second State of Palestine] in Judea, Samaria, the Golan Heights, the Jordan Valley and all of Jerusalem that was illegally occupied and desecrated by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for 19 years from 1948 to 1967. And most of the world rolls over with them.
3. It will distract, disrupt, disturb the headlines of Barack Hussein Obama’s opening moves in his election campaign for the 2012 election for President of the United States. He will fume, thunder and excoriate the Jews of Israel, America and the world – which will turn the voting Jews in America against him.  IF the Jews of Florida cut their voting support for Obama in half, he may lose Florida and maybe the election. Then he cannot further harm the human, civil and religious rights of the Jewish people AND the American economy may be able to safely recover from the disaster he has spawned on the American people – which negatively affects people and countries all over the world.
4. The people of Israel can do this much better and more safely than if the Israeli government has to do it. This is a much bigger campaign than camping out in hot tents to protest the high cost and unavailability of housing – and the high cost of cottage cheese. These points have been adequately made and the protestors now know how to effectively be heard. To defend the Jewish Nation/State of Israel for the Jewish people and all of Israel’s residents, this should be done now – not later after the General Assembly gives its approval to the Pals.
5. IF the people of Israel rise to this sacred challenge, I believe the world as a whole will be better off and safer. Israel and America can devastate Iran’s nuclear weapons’ and missile capability because they will then have the will to do so. They certainly have the means.
6. Judea and Samaria are the heart of the Jewish peoples’ Nation/State of Israel and Jerusalem is her soul. Let’s together work to defend her!

WOMEN FOR ISRAEL’S TOMORROW – (Women in Green) Hundreds of people packed the Machpela Visitors’ Center in Hebron [next to Marat HaMachpela – Tombs of our Matriarchs and Patriarchs] for the “Regaining the Initiative – Israeli Sovereignty over Judea and Samaria” conference that was organized by Women in Green, in cooperation with Professors for a Strong Israel, Israel National News
(Arutz 7), and the Machpela Visitors’ Center.
The purpose of the conference was to declare, again, that Eretz Israel is ours, and because it is ours, Israeli sovereignty is to be applied to it.
One speaker after the other related to the need to apply sovereignty and the complexity of the issue: what are the diplomatic, economic, security, demographic, American, and Arab consequences.
MK Tsipi Hotovely, MK Aryeh Eldad, Caroline Glick, Prof. Rafi Yisraeli, Eren Bar-Tal, Yoram Ettinger, Dr. Yitzhak Klein, and Dr. Gabi Avital kept the audience on the edge of their seats.
Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar, the leaders of Women in Green and the moderators of the evening, explained the activities of the movement in the Judea region – the struggle for Eretz Israel on the ground, literally, the struggle to open the Za’atra route, the struggle
for a Jewish Shdema and Adurayim, the struggle to save state lands at Netzer from Arab takeover, and more. All of these struggles are important, but this is not enough. Every day, every minute, the Arabs, who are well financed by anti-Semitic international organizations,
take over more and more state lands and hills that belong to us, to the people of Israel, to the State of Israel. They are establishing facts on the ground and stealing Eretz Israel.
It was clear to Yehudit and Nadia that, in addition to the important localized struggle on the ground, we must lead the great step of demanding the application of Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria, and therefore they initiated and organized the conference.
This isn’t the first initiative. In 1985, then MK Geula Cohen initiated a draft resolution of a law for application of sovereignty over Judea, Samaria, and the Gaza District. Yehudit Katsover read selections from that initiative by Geula Cohen – moving passages about our right to the Land, and the urgent need to apply sovereignty. It’s as if this draft of a law was written for our time.
The lectures at the conference were simultaneously translated in earphones for the English-speaking participants.
An optimistic spirit enveloped the conference. Yes, the application of sovereignty entails difficulties, but they can be overcome, and we will not relinquish the Land of Israel because of such obstacles.
MK Tsipi Hotovely, the initiator of the law for the application of sovereignty over Judea and Samaria, spoke of the practical aspect of the application of sovereignty.
MK Aryeh Eldad said that, in his opinion, Jordan is Palestine, and therefore the idea of consensual transfer is to be advanced.
Caroline Glick, the Deputy Managing Editor of the Jerusalem Post, and the Editor in Chief of the Latma site, said that the application of sovereignty is the only option if Israel desires to exist. “True, this is not simple, but the alternative is national suicide.”
Yoram Ettinger presented optimistic statistics on Israel’s demographic situation, and refuted the demographic lie. Jewish demography is on the rise, and Arab demography, on the decline. He also presented statistics on Israel’s good situation in the United States, in the
Congress, and in American public opinion.
Eran Bar-Tal, the editor of the Mekor Rishon economic supplement, spoke on the economic aspect of the application of sovereignty, and the extent its application could solve many economic problems, including the problem of housing that is on the agenda at present.
The data presented by Dr. Yitzhak Klein show a dramatic change in public opinion, which is moving to the right. This change creates an opportunity to change policy soon. No more talk of a Palestinian state or of withdrawals, but talk of the application of sovereignty over
Judea and Samaria.
A survey conducted in May 2011 by the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs headed by Dore Gold showed that a very high percentage oppose the handing over of territories, even within the framework of an agreement: more than 55 percent, and it reaches 90 percent regarding the possibility of the handing over of territories that control the Ben-Gurion International Airport.
Dr. Gabi Avital, the Chairman of Professors for a Strong Israel, summed up the evening and called upon the public to be optimistic.
The struggle for the application of sovereignty over Judea and Samaria must continue and take on added momentum in both the public and parliamentary spheres.
MK Ze’ev Elkin, Coalition head and Chairman of the Eretz Israel lobby, sent a letter to those attending the conference in which he wrote:
No place is as suitable as Hebron for a conference discussing Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria. The first act of acquisition in Eretz Israel took place in Hebron. An act of acquisition that the entire world knows! The application of sovereignty over Judea and Samaria is the most just solution. Historically, we belong to this hill country, and this hill country belongs to the people of Israel. I congratulate those attending the conference, those speaking at the conference and the conference’s organizers, for pushing to raise the consciousness that we did not conquer a foreign land, we rather returned to the regions of the Promised Land, and therefore Israeli sovereignty over them is only natural. With my blessings, Ze’ev Elkin.
& 2. Hevron Conference tackles applying Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria By Josh Hasten
Several hundred people from all over the country, along with members of Knesset, educators, and, journalists, gathered in Hebron on Thursday July 21, 2011, for a one day conference exploring the possibilities of Israel asserting sovereignty over Judea and Samaria.
The event, organized by the Women in Green organization, featured lectures by Israeli experts in the fields of politics, academia, security, demographics, and economics, who all made the case for Israel to annex the areas acquired in the Six-Day-War. The events’ speakers also addressed the future status of the Arabs living in Judea and Samaria, should Israel take such measures.
Jerusalem Post correspondent and LATMA founder Caroline Glick suggested that Israel assume control over Judea and Samaria similarly to the way Israel annexed the Golan and the Eastern neighborhoods of Jerusalem – “quietly” without drawing the world’s attention. She stressed that regardless of whether Israel annex those areas slowly over time, or all at once, either way, we will pay the price both diplomatically and militarily (arms funding ed.), so it’s best to annex all at once. Glick said that most Israelis understand that future withdrawals from Judea and Samaria are a recipe for the destruction of the entire country, citing Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanon in 2000 and Gaza from 2005, which subsequently led to rocket attacks and wars as the ultimate proofs. Glick was also critical of the Right in Israel for remaining quiet while talk of establishing a Palestinian State is rampant (which would be another terror state she is convinced), while not presenting other rational and realistic options.
In regard to the economics of why annexation makes sense, Makor Rishon Economic Correspondent Eran Bar-Tal talked about the economic practicalities, of officially joining Judea and Samaria with the rest of the country. Currently he said, people focus on doing business “North to South” in this country, when in reality it is much more practical to focus on “East in West” with communities in Judea and Samaria just ten minutes away from Kfar Saba and Israel’s other economic hubs. He also said that the Arabs living in Judea and Samaria would benefit economically from such an arrangement being enveloped under Israel’s umbrella citing the practical and financial detriment for Israel currently relying on foreign workers.
MK Aryeh Eldad focused his talk on the fact that a vacuum has been created here in Israel where the Arabs are making claims – an end to “occupation,” and a demand for self-determination, while no leaders in Israel respond by clearly stating that the “Land of Israel belongs to the Jewish people”. Eldad says, While the Arabs demand sovereignty, we as Jews, fail time and time again to demand our legitimate sovereignty over all of Israel. Eldad believes the ultimate solution is to annex Judea and Samaria and give the Arabs living there full Jordanian citizenship.
MK Tzipi Hotovely said that she favors a staged approach to “implementing sovereignty” over Judea and Samaria (she is against the term ‘annexation’ since she feels the term implies that you are lacking a connection to the area.) Hotovely feels that the biggest issue is what to do in regard to the Arab populations in Judea and Samaria. Therefore, the best approach she feels is imposing sovereignty firstly over the Jewish communities in area ‘C’, since only 100,000 Arabs live there, which can be a very important experiment in restoring civil control over the entire area, and later on finding a legitimate solution in regard to the Arab population. She declares it’s logical for almost 600,000 thousand Jews in Judea and Samaria to declare their sovereignty, just as Israel, with a population of six million Jews, declared independence in a sea of hundreds of millions of Arabs.
Arab and Middle East expert Professor Rafi Yisraeli admitted that if he felt a two-state-solution would bring peace then he wouldn’t oppose such a plan, but since he feels strongly that it won’t, he is against. Yisraeli said that the main problem is that if you give the 3.5
million Arabs in Judea, Samaria (and Gaza) a State you are not solving the greater “Palestinian” issue because the other [supposedly]6.5 million “Palestinians” in the Middle East would also demand a solution and hold Israel accountable for their current status. He added that while he wasn’t against negotiations leading to the Oslo Accords, the reason they failed is that while the Arabs during those talks spoke of “the right to self-determination,” Israel never demanded recognition as a Jewish State at that point, or our own right to self-determination. In other words while Israel was willing to recognize the PLO as a partner, the Arabs never recognized the plight of Zionism. He concluded that if Israeli Arabs are interested in joining a future “Palestinian” entity they would have to relinquish their Israeli citizenship, but for Israel that wouldn’t be the end of the world, since that would increase a Zionist majority in the Knesset.
Ambassador Yoram Ettinger focused his words on debunking the myth that Jews in Israel including Judea and Samaria will become a minority anytime soon. Ettinger said that despite the claim that ‘time is against Israel’ in reaching a deal with the Arabs because of demographics, the opposite is in fact true since factors indicate that Jews in Israel will remain a clear majority. Ettinger said that the Jewish birth rate is in fact increasing while the Arab rate is decreasing. He also cited an increase in Arab emigration to other countries particularly Arabs living under PA control. Ettinger also documented the fraudulent methods in which the PA conducts their census, and said that those skewed numbers are what the world bases their false claim that Jews in Israel will become a minority. He concluded by talking about the importance of Aliyah to Israel to further bolster our clear Jewish majority.
Dr. Yitzhak Klein, the Director of the Israel Policy Center stressed the time to assert sovereignty is now since negotiations have failed and the Oslo period is officially over. He agreed with Caroline Glick’s assessment that the majority of Israelis do not want to make
any more concessions, which will only lead to an increase in terror.
The conference was summarized by Dr. Gabi Avital Chairman, of Professors for a Strong Israel who insisted that the shared message from all the event’s speakers, despite differences in strategy for implementation, is the fact that the ‘Land for peace’ mantra has
proven to be disastrous, and that the only way towards a real peace is for Israel to annex Judea and Samaria.
Conference organizers – Women in Green heads Nadia Matar and Yehudit Katsover thanked everyone for attending, particularly those who arrived from Tel-Aviv and other places on the other side of the “Green Line”. They stressed the importance of Hevron as the venue for the event since the city of Hevron embodies the foundation of Jewish history in the Land of Israel.

U.S. Pres. Barack Obama’s demand that Israel not settle Jews in the Biblical areas of Judea and Samaria ignores thoroughly documented Jewish roots in the Land of Israel, and in Judea/Samaria in particular. Ambassador Yoram Ettinger, a former liaison for Congressional affairs in Israel’s Washington embassy, lists in the latest of his periodic position papers some of the evidence showing that Judea and Samaria has Jewish, not Arab, roots and the area was Always Known as “Judea and Samaria”
Ettinger negates Obama’s claim – enunciated during his June 4, 2009 speech at Cairo University – that “the aspiration for a Jewish homeland is rooted in” the Holocaust. For one thing, Ettinger notes, many world-renowned travelers, historians and archeologists of earlier centuries refer to “Judea and Samaria,” while the term “West Bank” was coined only 60 years ago.
Jordan gave the region this name when it illegally occupied it after Israel’s War of Independence. No nation on earth other than Britain and Pakistan recognized Jordan’s claim to Judea and Samaria.
Among the travelers, historians and archeologists who referred to Judea and Samaria are H. B. Tristram (The Land of Israel, 1865); Mark Twain (Innocents Abroad, 1867); R.A. MacAlister and Masterman (“Palestine Exploration Fund Quarterly”); A.P. Stanley (Sinai and Palestine, 1887); E. Robinson and E. Smith (Biblical Researches in Palestine, 1841); C.W. Van de Velde (Peise durch Syrien und Paletsinea, 1861); and Felix Bovet (Voyage en Taire Sainte, 1864). Even the Encyclopedia Britannica, as well as official British and Ottoman records until 1950, used the term Judea and Samaria, and not the West Bank.  The Land Was Named “Palestine” in Order to Erase Jewish Presence.
Ettinger goes even further back, and says that the name “Palestine”, which had nothing to do with a people as none by that name existed, was given to the Holy Land for the sole purpose of erasing the previous name of the country – Judea – from human memory. The Romans, whose plan this was, similarly sought to extinguish Jewish presence in Jerusalem by renaming it Aelia Capitolina. Arabs Came in the Last 150 Years.    When speaking of “Palestinian national rights,” it must be similarly kept in mind, Ettinger notes, that most Arabs residing today in Israel – anywhere between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean – have their origin in a massive 19th-20th century migration from Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and other Moslem countries. They adopted the title “Palestinian”, which gives the impression of ancient ties to the land. Town Names Betray Their True History.  Finally, Ettinger says that almost all Arab localities in Judea and Samaria have retained Biblical Jewish names, thus reaffirming their Jewish roots. Examples include the following:
Anata is Biblical (and contemporary) Anatot, the dwelling of the Prophet Jeremiah.
Batir is Biblical (and contemporary) Beitar, the headquarters of Bar Kochba, the leader of the Great Rebellion against the Roman Empire, which was suppressed in 135CE.
Beit-Hur is the biblical (and contemporary) Beit Horon, site of Judah the Maccabee’s victory over the Assyrians.
Beitin is biblical (and contemporary) Beit El, a site of the Holy Ark and Prophet Samuel’s court.
Bethlehem is mentioned 44 times in the Bible and is the birth place of King David.
Beit Jalla is biblical (and contemporary) Gilo, in southern Jerusalem, where Sennacherib set his camp, while besieging Jerusalem.
El-Jib is biblical (and contemporary) Gibeon, Joshua’s battleground known for his command to stop the sun and moon (Joshua 10:12).
Jaba’ is the biblical (and contemporary) Geva, site of King Saul’s son Jonathan’s victory over the Philistines.
Jenin is the biblical (and contemporary) Ein Ganim, a Levite town within the tribe of Issachar.
Mukhmas is biblical (and contemporary) Mikhmash, residence of Jonathan the Maccabee and site of King Saul’s fortress.
Seilun is biblical (and contemporary) Shilo, a site of Joshua’s tabernacle and the Holy Ark and Samuel’s youth.
Tequa is biblical (and contemporary) Tekoa, home of Prophet Amos.
Arabs Never Wanted Palestinian State
In another of his posts, Ettinger has negated the US government position that a Palestinian state is the crux of the Arab-Israeli conflict and that its formation would resolve the situation. He cites proofs from recent history showing that Arab antipathy to Israel not only predates Palestinian concerns, but often sidesteps such interests.
Israel’s war for its independence in 1948-9, for instance, was conducted by 7 Arab countries at the expense of local aspirations. Though Egypt conquered Gaza, and Jordan took Judea and Samaria, and Syria claimed the Golan, in none of these areas was a government of local Arabs allowed.
When Egypt conquered the Gaza Strip, it proceeded to prohibit “Palestinian” national activities and expel its leadership. Not only did Jordan not grant local independence to Judea and Samaria, it actually annexed these areas to its own country. When Syria occupied and annexed the Hama area in the Golan Heights, the Arab League outlawed a provisional “Palestinian” government there.
In short, Arab “rights” to a state in Judea and Samaria are historically weak and were long ignored by other Arab countries.
When the US defeated Mexico in the Mexican War, what did we do? We annexed the Southwest. When France defeated Germany in World War I (more or less), what did it do? It annexed Alsace and Lorraine. After World War II, how did the Dutch obtain compensation from Germany? They annexed certain lands that were later sold back to West Germany for a large sum. Many such examples could be offered.& 4. TIME TO ANNEX JUDEA & SAMARIA? By John Hinderaker, PowerLineBlog May 1, 2011 & June 27, 2011:    I do not understand why Israel has not already annexed Judea and Samaria. These regions, the heart of ancient Israel, are generally known today as the “West Bank” of the Jordan River. Three times, Arab states have attacked Israel in an effort to carry out a second Holocaust. Three times, Israel has defeated them. No principle of justice required Israel, having escaped annihilation by force of arms, to retreat back to the inadequate borders of 1948.
If Israel had annexed Judea and Samaria decades ago, most of the subsequent tortured history of its relations with the Palestinians would have been avoided. Most observers have assumed it is too late for such a “radical” step. But the Palestinian Authority’s threat to declare its own nationhood unilaterally, along with its rapprochement with Hamas, has promoted Jewish annexation again.
The Jerusalem Post reports:   Ideas about annexing parts of the West Bank that until recently were considered extreme have been gaining traction in the Knesset in recent weeks as the Palestinian Authority continues threatening to declare a state unilaterally in September. …
“We’ll have to protect ourselves,” [National Infrastructures Minister Uzi Landau] said. “If [the Palestinians declare a state], I’m going to suggest to my government to extend our sovereignty over the Jordan Valley and over the highly populated blocs we have in Judea and Samaria, just to start with.” …
“A Palestinian declaration of statehood would officially bury the Oslo Accords, which state that final borders will be decided via negotiations and that unilateral actions constitute violation of the accords,” [Likud MK Danny] Danon said. “The Palestinians declaring a state would free us of all the diplomatic, security, and economic commitments we made in the Oslo Accords.”
Danon favors responding to a Palestinian declaration of statehood by annexing all of Area C, which includes all the West Bank’s Jewish settlements and empty land. He said Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu should follow the example of his predecessors Levi Eshkol, who annexed eastern Jerusalem, and Menachem Begin, who annexed the Golan Heights.
A source close to the prime minister said that Netanyahu has kept his cards close to his chest as to how he would respond to Palestinian unilateral action, but that he has said in the past that Israel has its own unilateral options.
Danon said he hoped the threat of annexation could help Netanyahu persuade European leaders to stop the United Nations from voting on Palestinian statehood at the UN General Assembly in September.
My own inclination would be to aim higher. Annex all of the West Bank, not just portions, and entirely moot the idea of an independent Palestinian state, not just deter the U.N. from supporting one for the moment.
Some will say that such annexation would violate international law. But, except for certain limited areas where nations have agreed to cooperate to advance specific mutual interests, there is no international law. When has international law ever protected Israel from its enemies? Never.
When Arab states attacked Israel three times, did that violate international law? Certainly. When Palestinians launch rockets into Israel from Gaza, does that violate international law? Of course. When Iran and other countries ship munitions into Gaza and the West Bank for use in terrorist attacks against Israel, does that violate international law? Sure. When Arab terrorists blow up buses and restaurants, slaughter Jewish families in their sleep in an effort to destroy the state of Israel and kill as many Jews as possible, does that violate international law? It certainly violates any law, national or international, that may apply. Has the world ever cared about these countless violations of international and domestic law by Mid Eastern Arabs? Not much–with the single, honorable exception of American Christians.
Israel has always understood this. International law, the UN, and world opinion are all more or less useless. Israel’s own resources, determination and force of arms have alone preserved the country’s existence. So I say: if annexing the West Bank is “illegal,” then, having ignored the Arabs’ violation of every known rule of law for more than 60 years, the world will just have to ignore an illegal act by Israel, too.
What would become of the Arabs now living on the West Bank? The answer depends in part on demographic analysis, but I would propose a Right of Return: all Arabs now living in Judea and Samaria would be allowed, or if necessary required, to return to their compatriots in Jordan, Gaza, Egypt and Lebanon.
In my view, Israel should have reclaimed Judea and Samaria long ago. Most think it is now too late for such decisive action; but some will say, better late than never.

Three well-known figures – Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon, ex-Ambassador to Egypt Tzvi Maz’el, and Yesha Council Chairman Danny Dayan – answered this question for the weekly B’Sheva magazine. Hevron Jewish Community David Wilder and the Legal Forum for the Land of Israel also issued their opinions.
Their answers: Ex-Ambassador to Egypt, Sweden and Romania Tzvi Maz’el:
We must deal with this on the diplomatic and informational levels… It appears that the PM is traveling to France and Great Britain to discuss this topic. In my opinion, he must make clear to the Americans, Europeans, and others that convening the UN General Assembly [for this purpose] will strike a blow at all the agreements we have signed with the [PA], which determined all problems and issues that arise between us and them…must be solved in direct talks between the sides
When a foreign body such as the UN decides on the establishment of a Palestinian state, it essentially voids the Oslo Agreements of their content. In such a case, Israel will have to act unilaterally to protect its interests, without coordinating with the PA as we do today…
In addition, all the negotiations between Israel and the PA are based on UN resolutions 242 and 338… and on which were based the Oslo Agreements. The moment that the UN recognizes a Palestinian state, it means that 242 and 338 and all agreements based on them are void. This must be stated, in legal and political terms, as clearly as possible.
In addition, the General Assembly can only recommend, but cannot make binding decisions…Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon:  Let us not frighten ourselves with ungrounded theories. The Palestinian move for unilateral recognition is a threat with nothing behind it, and will not serve the Palestinians. A decision by the General Assembly will not change anything on the ground, and certainly not without Israeli cooperation…We are working on many fronts to present the Israeli position, and many countries are realizing that this unilateral move is not relevant. The PA’s actions and intentions prove again that they are not interested in real peace with Israel – for if they were, they would come to the negotiating table and talk with us…
Those in our country who say that September will be very fateful for Israel, are often the same ones who systematically call on Israel to retreat from its position. Israel has dealt successfully in the past with even bigger challenges than this one, and has flowered and blossomed afterwards. We are in the midst of a ‘political intifada’ on the part of the PA, and we must continue to watch out for our security and interests…  At a time when we see many changes in regional regimes, it is important for the world’s democracies not to allow the establishment of another terrorist state in the Middle East.
Danny Dayan, Chairman of the Yesha Council of Jewish Communities in Judea and Samaria:   The first and primary thing that the government of Israel must do, even without taking the Palestinians’ intentions into account, is to declare clearly our claim to ownership and sovereignty over all of Judea and Samaria. While the Palestinians claim this area with lies and distortions, we must present the People of Israel’s unshakeable claim to its homeland and its intention to actualize this right. But if the Arabs talks about national rights and Israel demands only security, the game is lost from the beginning.
Of late, the government of Israel has been broadcasting signs of panic in light of the PA’s intentions. Expressions such as a ‘diplomatic tsunami’ that await us [as DM Ehud Barak said – ed.], simply increase our enemies’ motivation… causing self-fulfilling prophecies. This vicious cycle must be stopped immediately.
How? By making a 180-degree turn in policy: No more promises for concessions and gestures if they drop their unilateral approach, but rather a clear and direct threat that their unilateral steps will be met by some unilateral steps of our own. But not merely declaratory unilateral steps, like the one they are planning, but some very practical ones – such as our annexation, with all that that entails, of all or parts of Judea and Samaria… We have many tools at our disposal… and we must be less restrained in using them.”
David Wilder, Spokesman for the Hevron Jewish Community (written after the announcement of the Hamas-Fatah agreement): …I believe the agreement is a reason to break out the wine, set up a band, and celebrate. [Because] this time [Shimon Peres] has hit the nail on the head [when he said on Thursday], ‘The agreement will prevent creation of a Palestinian state.’ …
[Netanyahu’s] Bar Ilan 2 speech, to be recited before a full house of Senators and Congressmen in Washington in a few weeks, [had been] just about finished, [including] concession after concession, abandonment of more land to our enemies, relinquishment of additional security precautions, a ‘Palestinian state’ in temporary borders, perhaps even with a taste of Jerusalem for dessert. It was all set. And now – what bombshell can he initiate? Not a one. At least, certainly not in the direction he planned…
The conflict between Hamas and Fatah [never had] anything to do with ideology. Both agree that the State of Israel is an insufferable thorn in the collective throats of the Arabs that must be plucked out of existence at the first opportunity. Abu Mazen [Mahmoud Abbas] certainly hasn’t changed his life’s philosophy, which he expressed while planning the 1974 Ma’alot massacre and funding the 1972 Olympic terror killings in Germany…
Bibi already announced his acceptance of a Palestinian state. But what can he do now? Every rocket now shot into Israel, at Sderot, Ashkelon or Tel Aviv, has not one signature on it, but rather two: Ismail Haniyeh [Hamas] and Abu Mazen [Fatah]. Gilad Shalit [was] a captive of Hamas-Fatah. Every attempted terror attack initiated from Gaza is rubber-stamped: Fatah-Hamas…
Just as G-d hardened Pharaoh’s heart, so too, today, He is throwing dust into the eyes of our enemies, blinding them, dulling their senses, and leading them down a dead-end road – leading, not to Israel’s destruction, rather to their own obliteration. This does not mean, under any circumstances, that we will have an easy time of it. Far from it. Dead end roads aren’t necessarily short, and they can be quite bumpy. But the chances of another Arab state on our eastern border, created with Israel’s blessings, have hit the lowest level they’ve been at in years.
It won’t be easy, but we will prevent creation of a Palestinian state. G-d is watching over us. G-d is protecting us, even from ourselves. Thank G-d!
Nachi Eyal, Head of the Legal Forum for the Land of Israel:
The murder of an innocent person praying at Joseph’s Tomb proves that the world cannot allow a Palestinian state. A people whose policemen are murderers cannot join the family of nations. The Forum expects the government of Israel to have its UN ambassador issue a formal complaint to the United Nations, as the murder of a person at prayer is considered a war crime.
